It’s Hump-day and for those of you who have followed me, you know what that means, to you new to “Love Of All Of The Things”, THANK YOU for your support and the follow! (come’on click the follow button, you know you wanna 😉 )You’ll find that Wednesdays are for reviews. For all you foodies out there the “Pop-up” may be something you know all about, so how do YOU pop-up?! and for you newbies this pop-up is perfect for you to sink your teeth into.
When Jeff told me about his Chef friend Charlotte and her “Brunch With Charlotte” Pop-up getting started I was super excited for the invite. Charlotte is a Chef with an Austin based catering company called Pink Avocado and I have attended a few events over the years where they catered and have always found their offerings to be consistently awesome, which to me meant Charlotte is “No chop liver” as “they” say. As I would imagine all Chefs want to branch out on their own this pop-up is a way for Charlotte to get her name out there. I think it would be a great idea to discover this new up and coming Chef before she gets so popular there will be a line out the door and “No food for you!” see what I did there Seinfeld?
“Brunch With Charlotte” Pop-up will be located inside the very new hip and trendy Dia’s Market; a curated, specialty grocery store and deli serving north Austin, Texas including the Crestview, Brentwood, Highland, Wooten & Allandale neighborhoods, every Sunday, including this Easter Sunday (I’m told through September or October) from 11am-2pm, which gives you enough time to sleep in, go after church, or even both 😉
Now let’s get into the “meat” of this blog, the food. I wouldn’t have spent so much time talking about this pop-up had there not been awesome food to go along with it…
We enjoyed a small sampling of some items Charlotte will be offering starting with Tiramisu Pancake, (pictured above) espresso pancake, mascarpone , cocoa powder, and Kahlua cream, The Sunshine Crepe, a house made crepe with pineapple, mandarin orange, topped with coconut caramel and toasted coconut, “Tatchos” (my favorite!) tater tots topped with bacon, sausage, ham, queso, pico de gallo, and avocado (because, der!) and lastly Biscuits and Gravy, green chili biscuits topped with a chorizo chipotle gravy.
For Easter Sunday Chef Charlotte will be offering these items along with an addition of Chicken and Funnel ($15), malt funnel cake topped with buttermilk fried chicken, mint syrup and candied bacon, ummm excuse me Chef….why didn’t I get this??!! Sounds AMAZING!
The pop-up is a “first come first serve” and also offering $1 mimosas! You just place your order at the market counter, pay, and pick your seating. Dias Market will also be open during these events so feel free to buy your own bottle of bubbles or wine, choose one of the many craft beers they offer, or go sans booze and grab a cup of fresh-brewed Metropolis coffee. Heck, you can even get yourself started by making your very own charcuterie & artisan cheese plate since Dias has plenty to offer out of their fully stocked deli counter.
All and all I recommend making this a plan. Mark it on your calendars and make it happen, every Sunday 11-2pm. Tell them I sent you 🙂 To keep up with this pop-up check out the “Brunch with Charlotte” fan page on Facebook, Charlotte’s Twitter, or the Dia’s Market Facebook
